The Biltmore experience. . . with children

Hello again I've decided before I try and write about our trip out west I should probably share more about out time out here. For mom's birthday we decided to bite the bullet and pay for the tour of the Biltmore mansion in Ashville,NC. Sounds nice right? Well we thought so too, I'm not sure how we forgot that we had a newborn with a huge stroller, a four year old, and a TWO year old. Well it was too late the tickets were purchased nothing we could do but go, so we did. We prepared the girls by telling them all about the "princess castle we were going to and they were very excited!! :) We got there after an almost two hours and a couple of Abby gotta go pee pee scares. . . What a beautiful sight it was! Morgan was so excited to see the castle that she started running saying how she wanted to see where the princesses lived and of course not paying attention to the uneven ground. . . yes she fell and yep it was bad, oh the tears and all of a sudden the princess castle was not as appealing as it had been. A guard saved the day with a band-aid, and we were pretty much ok except that Morgan now said she didn't thing she could walk(because she had scraped her elbow) and wanted to sit in the stroller which Abby didn't think was a good enough excuse. . . ok fast forwarding to when we actually made it to the front doors. . . Here's just a little look at what we were in for. She looked pretty sweet in the first picture the second picture was taken right before she started running away from us!! We caught up with her and had to kick Morgan out of the stroller so we could buckle the two year old in. The adults were loving the tour the kids seemed pacified which should have been our first clue that something was wrong! All of a sudden we hear an unfamiliar voice say Abby I don't think you should be in there. . . we look around and sure enough our abby wasn't there she had run ahead of us into a very breakable looking room, underneath the HUGE do not enter ropes right to the bed and was looking very much like she would climb on to it , Grandma was quick to give an ABBIGAIL ONE, (she didn't need three Abby knew she meant business) Abby came running back and we left that room in a hurry!
The funniest bit of that story it that the people in front of us knew Abby's name because we had to keep telling her no. Well 4 stories and a basement later Abby wasn't the only one struggling, after climbing the narrow stairs to the third and fourth stories carrying a huge stroller and trying to keep tabs on the little ones even the adults were struggling. But on we went after all we paid for this tour we were going to see it all! Well for the whole last floor all we heard was Morgan sayin dis is borin, and a very loud chorus of pee pee in the potty, pee pee in the potty from Abby. Needless to say now the people in front of us, and behind us all knew Abby's name. Well at least we had almost made it through. Out side we only had to chase after Abby one more time when she skipped past another do not enter sign to wash her hands in a very pretty fountain. All in all a very fun trip! The adults enjoyed very much the Biltmore and the beautiful gardens around it! I would recommend it to anyone, but I would add you may want to make it a childless date (more fun for them I think). Really it was a very fun day, the Biltmore has plenty to fill at least a full day of touring, Mark and I plan to go again sometime!

The best part of the whole experience is the memory formed.. even though it was CRAZY.. you will never forget this trip and Abby will have a grest story to tell her kids and grandkids. Gotta love Children.. they are the best.
