Feels good to eat again

I know I know, I've been terrible lately! This won't be much of a record for later years if I don't start posting again! However I do have some great excuses! At the end of February I had to get my tonsils removed. . . a little surgery that takes about 45 min. shouldn't be too bad to recover from right?? Um no, and I would STRONGLY advise all of those people who are told to have their children's removed now to do it!! Save them from having to get it done as an adult! It was horrible, and really I may sound like a whiner but in this case I will take all the pity I can. . . because like I said it was horrible! I couldn't talk, eat, or really do anything for about 8 days. After that things slowly improved. I do have to say that I have wonderful friends, and a wonderful very sympathetic husband who took care of Elliott and I, we also have an amazing branch (with more amazing friends) that took care of Mark so at least HE didn't starve. The big red letters are to help everyone know that he didn't starve but I DID!! I made a list of all the food I was missing out on, and vowed to eat it all once my throat can handle it! It could take a while to get everything on my list eaten! Any weight I may have lost will be quickly replaced. Well almost two weeks after surgery my dad was put in the hospital after finding out from a few tests that most if not all of the major arterys to his heart were 90-99% blocked. They didn't even let him leave the hospital after the tests. We decided it was important to be in Utah to support (or complicate things, depending on how you look at it) mom and dad. So we left Wednesday evening and flew to Las Vegas, we got there about 1am our time, and back to mom and dads about 5am our time. . . It was rough! Even better, we needed to be to the hospital by about 7am. We spent a 13 hour day in the hospital with three little ones including Elliott who did great under the circumstances. I'm not sure the nurses, doctors, and volunteers thought they were all that great but hey 13 hours is a very long time! Dad's surgery went well he had to get 6 bypasses and a valve repair. When he came into the ICU he looked awful with all kinds of tubes and machines. I'll have pictures later of dad, and of grandma and kids trying to fill the hours in the hospital. . . we definatly got creative! Well Mark met us in Utah and we all stayed till Sunday/Monday. That means we thought we were leaving on Sunday but after spending a whopping 11 hours in the Las Vegas airport we had to get a hotel and stay over. It wasn't all bad, after realizing there was no way to keep our son from crawling around on the filthy floor. We just let him go, he made more people smile, I just love seeing his little personality! Any person that would give him the time of day was automatically his friend! He'd crawl over to strangers (we were following him) and scream at them till they looked then smile his little toothy grin and crawl away. We came back to the airport the next day before 5am and got on the first flight home which was delayed causing both Mark and I to miss work. The trip just kept on costing us money! We finally got home to a messy house with lots to do before leaving again to go to Salt Lake City again for training. I had to leave Thursday for training which always stresses me out, we have to re certify every year. I hate training, but I love getting to spend time out west. I wish I actually had more time for friends and family and less time for working! I did love seeing Reid, and Hilly (who always helps me study!), and Chelsie and Alex, and Stacey, and Arianne and Brandon! It was so nice to get to spend my little bit of down time with people I love. I got done passing all of training and got back to Atlanta only to get stuck there for 2 more days. The flights were all full. I finally got home on Monday night which was a miracle (no joke) and got to see Mark and Elliott. It was the longest I've ever been away. It was a wonderful homecoming! The whole house was clean, and there were beautiful flowers to say YEAH you passed, and of course hugs and kisses! Today I took Elliott to the doctor for his 9 month check up and was worried that I wasn't able to say yes to all the questions they asked me on the developmental sheet they give. The doctor came in and said that he was impressed I could answer yes to as many questions as I did since it was the 13 month old sheet and not the 9. We did find out that the reason he's been so cranky lately is he has an ear infection. . . I did like getting up with him every two hours last night because I missed him so much but i'm happy to know that he's not going through a phase and he'll sleep again soon! So after being home for less that 24 hours I headed off to work again, and that's where I am now waiting for an early flight tomorrow to Houston and back. . . does life ever get less busy? I know this is long but really compared to the month we've actually had it seems very short! We've been crazy so please don't be offended if I haven't seen or talked to you lately I really haven't been home in a very long time!
