When we looked outside the morning of day three we were less than excited for what awaited us. Thank goodness for the umbrella's we had to buy on the first day we were there! It was pouring rain, and the wind looked really strong! I said, we could just enjoy Italian television and call it a trip. . . but Mark wouldn't have it. I'm thankful that he wanted to brave the elements! This is all we would have missed!! We were soaked by the time we got to our first bus stop, but dried off pretty quickly. It stopped raining shortly after we got on the bus, and turned into a beautiful day, with a few random down pours. . . which really made it an adventure.
First we searched for a few more plaza's on our way to the Pantheon. We found Luigi from the movie Cars and had to take a picture for Elliott (who happens to be Car's biggest fan).

We walked and walked, and wondered if maybe we had missed the Pantheon. . . yes, if you've been there you may be laughing at us. When we got there we also laughed at ourselves. Even coming from the back side, it would have been very hard to miss! We basically walked right into it! It was amazing to see one of ancient Rome's greatest mysteries! They still can't figure out how they built this amazing piece of history. Our pictures don't do it justice, but we had to include it because of how much we enjoyed seeing it!
This was the back side

Just walking around it we were amazed at all the detail.

We saw Rafael's tomb inside, and took many pictures that really weren't that great so you'll have to use your imagination as we move right along. We walked A LOT on the third day!! For hours and hours, and we loved every second!
This was a bus that I wanted to take, Mark said no.

So we headed for the next stop, it what the Italian's not so lovingly refer to as the wedding cake or the type writer. They think it is bulky and big, not very artistic or beautiful. When you live in a city like Rome, I guess you are really picky about the architecture. We thought it was pretty. It looks like some of the buildings they have in D.C.

This was from the top of the "typewriter".

After that we headed off to see ancient Rome. The Colosseum, Forum, and Palatine hill. These were just a few pictures of ruins that we passed through on the way. That was one of the most amazing things about Rome. There are ruins everywhere, with modern city just built around.

Loved this, can you see the old bridge?

We also found the mouth of truth on the way.

This is the church where it's found.

I'm not sure if you'd be this happy if the hand was actually chomped off. . . but hey who knows?

This is what all of the next pictures are of. . .

This was right before we got on the metro. Rome has some of the cleanest water in Europe, so we just filled up our water bottles all over!

It was very hard to pick out these pictures, I have about 600 pictures, and I loved them all. These last few were some of my favorites from our last night.

Well this is it. I'm officially done blogging about Rome. It was a wonderful trip, with a wonderful companion! We enjoyed every second, even the cold and wet ones!
Three things you should pay for if you go to Rome:
1. A metro/bus pass while you're there. You see so much more that way.
2. A guided tour of the Vatican Museum, probably the best money we spent!
3. Tickets to get into the Colosseum, forum, and the "hill", it's amazing and you should experience all of it from the inside, plus it could take at least one to two days and your ticket is good for two days!
Well there you go! Enjoy!

Fun that you got to go.
Bummer that you had to come home!
